Important Notes

1.Unique Handmade Nature

  • As a wholly handmade item, variations in form, glaze flow, texture, and rope detailing make each piece unique. Bubbles, pinholes, or glaze drips on the surface are natural imprints of the Yōhen technique and not defects.

2. Care & Maintenance

  • Before First Use: Rinse with warm water; no need to boil.
  • Cleaning: Handwashing is recommended. The stoneware can be wiped with a soft cloth; avoid abrasive scrubbers.
  • Compatibility: Suitable for microwave and dishwasher (though handwashing is best for longevity). Not suitable for open flame or oven.

3. Rope Details

  • The bound rope is made of natural fiber and serves both decorative and heat-insulating purposes. Prolonged contact with water may cause natural color change or slight shrinkage. When cleaning, try to avoid soaking the rope in water for extended periods.

4. Packaging & Shipping

  • We use reinforced, eco-friendly packaging. However, in rare cases, damage may occur during international shipping. Please contact us immediately if such issues arise.

Frequently asked questions

Why do works differ?

The Beauty of Uniqueness

  • On Color: During high-temperature kiln firing, glazes undergo unexpected flows and fusions. Thus, each piece's color gradients and textures are naturally formed miracles, impossible to replicate.
  • About shape and size: Each piece is either hand-thrown or hand-built, bearing subtle craft marks—not flaws, but proof of the artisan's interaction with the clay. The dimensions of sculptural works may vary slightly, reflecting a natural sense of vitality.
  • Regarding bubbles/grains/crazing: Within kilns exceeding 1300°C, clay and natural forces complete the final act of creation. The bubbles, granular texture, or subtle ‘kiln crazing’ you observe are traces of clay's respiration, kisses left by the flame's passage, and courageous proof of this piece's fiery journey. We call these ‘Natural Imprints’—not flaws, but the most authentic birth certificates of this handmade artwork, narrating its unique story.
  • Regarding the small round holes: Thank you for noticing this detail! These are intentional “breathing holes” and “functional holes” preserved by our artisans. They are both essential for the high-temperature firing process and cleverly designed as an incense holder or flower vase, adding practicality to your artwork and a touch of ritual to your life. (Please note: Not all products feature this. This is an artistic function, not a dedicated design. Ensure stability when using.)
Why is the product so expensive?

Welcome to our world of handcrafted pottery. Here, we reject mass-produced assembly lines and embrace the beauty born from nature and human hands. Every sculpture you see is not a manufactured product, but an artwork nurtured by artisans through time and emotion. Therefore, please understand and cherish its uniqueness—because in all the world, there is only one like it.

Why might the product require a waiting period?

”To ensure the quality and uniqueness of each piece, your order will be handcrafted upon confirmation. We cannot ship as quickly as standard products, for beautiful things require time to develop.“

Behind this lies our crafting journey:

  1. Order Confirmation & Material Preparation: Our artisans carefully select the ideal clay for you.
  2. Artisanal Shaping: Hand-thrown/hand-molded and naturally air-dried.
  3. Initial Firing: Undergoes hours of high-temperature bisque firing.
  4. Meticulous Glazing: Applies a uniquely crafted glaze to the piece.
  5. Final Firing: Undergoes the decisive glaze firing to achieve its final color.
  6. Final Inspection & Careful Packaging: Ensures the piece is intact and safely embarks on its journey to you.

Thank you for your patience. This extra wait is rewarded with a one-of-a-kind work of art, crafted to add warmth to your living space.

Are our containers for holding food or liquids safe?
